Learning to float
After bringing illustrations to life by
animating them, in this project I’m trying to bring these animation into real life.
This project represents an evolution in my artistic practice, transitioning from traditional 2D animation to augmented reality integration. Following successful experiments with  Eyejack and Artivive platforms, I've expanded my exploration into Adobe Aero to merge animated illustrations with physical spaces.
Through AR technology, my illustrations transcend their static nature, creating immersive experiences that blend digital artistry with real-world environments. Adobe Aero offers enhanced capabilities for spatial awareness and interactive elements, allowing for more sophisticated integration between artwork and physical surroundings.
These experiments mark a significant step in understanding how traditional illustration techniques can be enhanced through emerging AR technologies, creating new possibilities for storytelling and artistic expression in three-dimensional space.
The project demonstrates the potential of AR as a medium for artistic expression, while documenting the technical challenges and creative opportunities that arise when bridging the gap between traditional animation and augmented reality.
Softwares used: Procreate, Procreate Dreams, Photoshop, After effects & Adobe Aero

Illustrations in Action

HeartPot
A metaphor for growth and nurturing, this piece features vibrant greenery emerging from a heart-shaped vessel, symbolizing the fertile ground of human emotion and potential. The AR animation brings the growing process to life.
Still Life
A playful take on traditional still life composition, this piece uses AR to emphasize hydration's importance.
Sunlight Date
An interactive desk companion designed for solitary coffee breaks, this illustration transforms the mundane into magical through AR animation.
Beach Walk
This piece explores digital melancholy through a solitary beach scene. AR elements enhance the emotional weight through atmospheric effects and subtle movement, creating an immersive experience of contemplative solitude.
Technical Process and Artwork Creation
Initial illustrations developed in Procreate or Procreate Dreams, establishing core visual elements and animation foundations. Advanced color correction and effects applied through Photoshop or After Effects, enhancing visual impact while maintaining AR compatibility. Strategic export of specific layers optimized for AR implementation, ensuring smooth integration with Aero platform. Final assembly in Adobe Aero desktop for animation preparation, followed by real-world placement testing through the mobile app. This streamlined workflow maximizes both creative flexibility and technical efficiency while maintaining high-quality AR output.
This project explores the intersection of traditional illustration and augmented reality, documenting the journey from static artwork to interactive 3D experiences. Using tools like Adobe Aero, EyeJack, and Artivive, the work evolves from Procreate illustrations through post-processing to final AR placement. Each piece—from the nurturing HeartPot to the contemplative Beach Walk—demonstrates how AR technology can enhance storytelling while maintaining artistic integrity. The project establishes a practical workflow for artists bridging physical and digital realms, contributing to the emerging language of spatial art.
